In 1994, Patti Paule-Carres founded M.E.D.I.C., Inc., and has since grown the business to its current state, serving over 50 provider clients. Over the years, Ms. Paule-Carres has actively conducted, and possesses an intimate understanding of, all possible aspects of medical billing. With the company’s growth, Ms. Paule-Carres now focuses on utilizing her vast experience in the role of President & CEO, overseeing all aspects of M.E.D.I.C., Inc. Among her many and varied roles are interfacing with all of M.E.D.I.C., Inc.’s provider clients and assuring that all corporate policies and procedures are compliant with state and federal statutes and regulations.
A Certified Professional Coder with the AAPC, Ms. Paule-Carres manages all elements of hiring, training, and evaluating MEDIC, Inc.’s approximately 20-person staff. Dedicated to continued education efforts for all staff, Ms. Paule-Carres supports conference attendance addressing medical billing management, compliance and practice specific issues presented by the medical colleges of M.E.D.I.C., Inc. clients. Additionally, she routinely makes available for all staff members training courses covering an expansive variety of topics related to the billing industry. Ms. Paule-Carres’ impetus for starting a medical billing and practice management company stemmed from her many years of service as the Corporate Secretary and Treasurer of her husband’s private practice. In such capacity, Ms. Paule-Carres managed the office operations of a clinical psychologist working in private practice and as a contractor for the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was responsible for all bookkeeping, tax organization and preparation and day-to-day office processes, in addition to all third-party payor and patient billing.
Prior to founding M.E.D.I.C., Inc., Ms. Paule-Carres enjoyed a career as an educator. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University in 1973, and her M.A.T. (Masters of Arts & Teaching) from Northwestern University in 1978.
Yvonne Wills – Office Manager

Ms. Wills joined M.E.D.I.C., Inc. over a decade ago, after having previously gained fifteen years of experience working in medical offices. Her prior experiences have spanned the gamut -- from her five years of service as a medical assistant to a family practice physician and an Ear, Nose & Throat physician (for whom she did everything from surgical assists to injections, to x-rays, to drawing and testing blood) to her ten years of patient and insurance billing for a dermatology practice. This vast experience in both the clinical and administrative aspects of private medical practice has served well in assisting M.E.D.I.C., Inc.
Since joining M.E.D.I.C., Inc. Ms. Wills has risen from her initial position of account manager (in which she performed all billing activities for specific accounts) to her current position of Office Manager. As M.E.D.I.C., Inc.'s Office Manager, Ms. Wills primarily oversees a staff of approximately 20 team leaders and account managers; attends to special client projects; coordinates the integration of new clients; and serves as the point of contact for all providers.
Ms. Wills is a certified professional coder through the AAPC and a certified auditor, qualified to perform chart reviews and coding analyses for M.E.D.I.C., Inc.’s clients. Additionally, Ms. Wills has served as an Adjunct Instructor at Lord Fairfax Community College, in Middletown, VA, teaching a course in Medical Office Insurance and Bookkeeping.
Larissa LPC Sneathern, Esq. – Corporate Counsel & Compliance Officer

Ms. Sneathern joined M.E.D.I.C., Inc. in 2005 as the Corporate Compliance Officer and General Counsel. Of key importance, Ms. Sneathern is responsible for heading M.E.D.I.C., Inc.’s compliance program, which includes periodic staff compliance training, creation and updating of the Corporate Compliance Manual, the oversight and monitoring of M.E.D.I.C., Inc.’s adherence to the ever-increasing battery of federal and state statutes and regulations with which M.E.D.I.C., Inc. and its clients must comply, identification of compliance risk areas, and periodic audits of such risk areas.
In addition to her role as Compliance Officer, Ms. Sneathern has assumed responsibilities for marketing efforts of M.E.D.I.C., Inc. In this capacity, Ms. Sneathern has developed quarterly newsletters which are provided to all clients, and cover timely legal issues affecting the operations of today’s medical practices. Additionally, Ms. Sneathern is available to present physician and office staff in-service programs on practice management and legal matters.
Ms. Sneathern also attends to and advises M.E.D.I.C., Inc. staff on any legal matters confronting M.E.D.I.C., Inc. – including, but not limited to, human resources matters, fair debt collection practices, HIPAA-related matters (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act), FACTA-related matters (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act), the FTC Red Flag Rules, DHHS OIG Workplans, etc…. Like Ms. Paule-Carres and Ms. Wills, Ms. Sneathern is a Certified Professional Coder with the AAPC.
Prior to joining M.E.D.I.C., Inc., Ms. Sneathern was affiliated with the Washington, D.C. office of Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, where she practiced law as a corporate civil defense trial attorney for over five years. While at Kirkland & Ellis, Ms. Sneathern represented many nationally-recognized clients – such as BellSouth, Dean Foods, Hershey, Morgan Stanley, PG&E, Reilly Industries and United Airlines – in cutting edge legal matters. Ms. Sneathern enjoyed a successful educational career as well, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1999. Other law school academic honors and achievements included her induction into the Order of the Coif, and her service on the Editorial Board of the Cardozo Law Review.
She received her B.A. in Political Science from Denison University in 1993.
